Low current sensor?

I'm working with the 20AMP current sensor. Its not good at detecting small currents in my electronics circuit.

I need to monitor/measure current between 30mA (.03A) and 1A. The phidgets 20AMP sensor only really starts reacting around .5A.

Is there any way to improve this? I tried increasing the sensitivity but nothing really improved.

Is there a low current precision sensor available? Would seem extremely easy to make one, I'm surprised there isn't one.

The precision voltage sensor is great by the way.
