Phidget Control Panel - No UI launch - Windows 7 64 bit

Post by David.Spi »

Hello everyone,

I'm having some problems using my Phidget Spatial 3/3/3 in a Windows 7 64 bit environment.
I installed the drivers (http://www.phidgets.com/drivers.php) and connected the device to the laptop. The Control Panel detects it correctly and displays serialnumber and version (check enclosed screenshot). When trying to launch the UI by doubleclicking on the device, no further UI shows up.
The same unit works fine in combination with a Windows Vista 32 bit system.

I read something about third party software trying to interact with the device and preventing the Control Panel from accessing it. I tried to detect such software but the problem persists.

Any suggestions on solving the problem? Thanks in advance!

David

EDIT:
I noticed that Vista and 7 use different drivers. In both cases they are Microsoft based. Is there any possibility to get some original drivers from Phidgets to install them via the device manager of Windows?

Having the same problem trying to launch the stepper-full.exe from the control panel. also, the VB code provided does not work with the stepper motor contorller 1062. Neither the slider or the full version downloaded from pohidgets. The stepper-full.exe that cam with the Phidgets21 download does work and will control a motor I have but I have no source code as that file is a compiled .exe.

Any help? Thanks

Well ... installing the most recent driver (Phidget 21 Installer december 2011) did the trick : Double click works under Phidget control panel with Windows 7 64 bits.

My first suggestion is to install the most recent drivers. Ensure you download the correct (32/64 bit) version of the drivers when you do.

Hi Brian,

Usine Windows XP downloaded the correct one yesterday before I posted. I'm having the same trouble not launching.

Also had another question. I'm using VB 6 for the interface. The stepper slider works ok. Shouldn't the motor control-full work as well? Can't get that to recognize when a motor is attached. The other code for the manager works ok and will recognize whatever is connected via USB but no go on the code.

Thanks,

Solved: I uninstalled and removed all Phidget entries from the registry, reinstalled and it works.
