Open Source API

Post by HuntJason »

It would seem to me that it would be advantageous if the API (Phidget22.NET, Phidget22, Phidget22extra, and Phidget22java) were made to be open source to allow community improvements in design via pull requests. I am wondering if there may be any plans to migrate to that sort of model?

No plans to put the libraries on github or anything like that. The library source is available for Linux.

Thanks for the reply Patrick. Though it would be wonderful if it was OSS, I understand companies not wanting to make them public.

Not necessarily against the idea, more an issue of allocating some time to consider, and implement if we decided to go that way.
