How to replace the PhidgetEncoder 1052_0 ?

Post by Narzaal »

Hi,
I have actually a box made with 6 PhidgetEncoder 1052_0 https://www.phidgets.com/?tier=3&prodid=44 and a PhidgetInterfaceKit 8/8/8 w/6 Port Hub 1019_1 https://www.phidgets.com/?tier=3&catid= ... &prodid=20 but all those parts are discontinued.
I want to make some other box with 6 rotative buttons like the old one but I'm not sure how to do that. The device supposed to replace the encoder seem not relevant (PhidgetEncoder HighSpeed 1057_2B
https://www.phidgets.com/products.php?product_id=1057 ).
If someone have some advices I take them.

Thanks for your help.

Instead of the 1052, you can use the HIN1101. You can connect all six to a VINT Hub. If you need digital inputs and digital outputs like you had on the 1019, you can get another VINT Hub and use the six ports in digital input or digital output mode directly, or get a Digital Output Phidget or Digital Input Phidget if you need even more.

If you need a powered USB hub like the one on the 1019, you can get the HUB0003. It might seem like you need more Phidgets in this new system, but cost-wise it will probably be the same price or cheaper than before.

Thanks ! I don't know how I haven't seen the Touch / Human Input categorie.
You helped me a lot !
I don't really need the push function so I think this one should be fine 1109_0 with VINT Hub.
I suppose it'll be enough without a powered one.

Keep in mind that the 1109 only has 300° of travel, so you can't spin the dial all the way around.
