Any other approaches to use Multiple RFID readers (around 24) in close range

Post by jaison.joseph26 »

Hello Phidgeters,

Really wanted some other approaches to manage multiple RFIDS placed besides each other . The below article shows 2 approaches out of which the second one looks promising but alas i have almost 24 phidgets, in this case the 2nd approach causes delays.

Would greatly appreciate your input guys since i am using this for a interesting "lift and learn" type project.

Merci

I've seen some of these kind of installations use an optical solution instead of RFID. Each object would have a pattern like a QR code on the bottom for identification, and each place where it can be put has a camera or scanner to capture and identify the code. I'm not sure if this implementation will be more expensive, but it would remove the limitation on distance between readers. If the patterns were designed properly you could also determine the rotation angle of the object.
