please forgive my beginners question ; I'd like to know if the compass/magnetomete measurements provided by the Spatial 3/3/3 are tilt compensated ?
We're looking to replace our old CMPS10 in an application where we only really need 2D compass heading, with a 20Hz refresh rate. I'm not sure the Spatial is the right choice, as it seems overkill for our application, but it fits the budget, and looks very tempting, if only we could make sure of this tilt compensation.
We're using Max/MSP as a programming language but would prefer not to address these issues in the program.
The ones with AHRS support will give you a tilt-compensated Heading from the algorithmData outlet, alongside Pitch and Roll.
If all you need is an attitude-adjusted compass, I'd recommend going with an MOT1102 (which needs a VINT Hub, but still comes out cheaper than the MOT0109)
MOT0109 and MOT1102 are your real options if you want orientation calculated for you.
MOT0109 features temperature compensation and more accurate sensors for applications that need them, but it sounds like the MOT1102 should be good enough for your purposes.
