I’m looking for a BLDC motor controller capable of controlling 4 24V Phidgets BLDC motors at once. However, the only phidgets controller available works with a single motor. Can you recommend any good alternatives to using 4 separate controllers? I think a single multi-motor controller would result in a lower cost and simpler design. Thanks.
A multi-motor controller may be a bit simpler or smaller than four separate controllers, but many of the components on the board would need to be duplicated anyways so it makes the most business sense to offer it as a single channel device with the smallest possible footprint. Our brushless controllers need to be able to handle rather large motors safely, so a more compact multi-channel device would ostensibly have to have lower current capacity which is typically a situation better suited to brushed DC motors.
If it doesn't absolutely need to be brushless, we do have a 2x DC motor Phidget, the DCC1003. Two of those would have a fairly small footprint.
