Wide Field of View Distance Sensor

Post by ARIS_TECH1 »

Do any of the phidget distance sensors have a wider field of view (not a single point)?

We do not specifically have distance sensors with a wide field of view.

The idea behind narrow field of view distance sensors is to keep the sensing area well defined. As you widen the field of view of a single simple distance sensor, it becomes less clear if the nearest object in that field of view is actually of interest.

The DST1200 is probably the closest sensor to your specific question, though its field of view is still (intentionally) quite narrow.

What are you trying to detect? It might be possible that some other sensor type might be better suited to your application.
