How to update SBC3 Debian version?

Hello,
I'm currently learning how to use my dad's roughly 10 year old Phidget SBC3, but the Debian version on there is about the same age. Due to this, I am not able to download any packages, including Java and Python support.
How would I go about manually updating it?

SBC3 is on Debian 7, and will not receive any updates to a newer Debian as it's been out of support for awhile, but you should be able to point it at the Debian archive to keep using it. The Phidget packages for SBC3 ARE being updated whenever we do a library release.
