The Phidgets products universe would be greatly enhanced, IMHO, with a transparent wireless USB system that was NOT dependent on WiFi. Ideally, a USB dongle for the PC would act as one end of a virtual USB cable. The remote end would present a simple USB hub for other Phidgets, as if there were a cable. This remote hub would likely need to be powered, like the Phidgets plugged into it, with 7 to 16 VDC. Such a new product would free-up existing Phidgets-based systems without re-programming anything. It would only need to transmit and receive the NRZI signals originating at the PC with virtually no "intelligence" on-board. It would only need to de/modulate an RF carrier with two channels at the same time, as the USB protocol requires two wires for the J, K, SE0 and SE1 states.
